This book reproduces all six printed maps which cover Saddleworth from 1771 to the end of the 19th century. Included are extracts from Thomas Jeffreys’ map of 1771, the earliest one inch scale map of Yorkshire, The Saddleworth Enclosure map of 1834 and the first edition 6 inch Ordnance Survey sheets covering Saddleworth. The final map in the collection is the very detailed 25” = 1 inch map which shows Saddleworth as it was at the end of the 19th century.
