Our Background
Founded in 1964, the Society supports family
history research in Greater Manchester including Bolton and Oldham.
We welcome members from all parts of the UK and particularly those
from overseas researching ancestors in the Manchester area.

The Society and its Branches offer an extensive programme of meetings with speakers on a wide variety of topics relevant to family and local history and the application of technology to family research.
