PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE MAILING US.

We regret that much as we would like to assist with personal research, we do not have the resources to undertake extensive searches. We are happy to answer questions concerning the resources available in our library and to comment on whether we hold resources to assist enquirers in deciding whether membership would be beneficial to them.

We are able to offer limited look-up services, provided the enquiry is precise as to the source to be searched and the information required. Members must include their membership number. In the case of census searches, for example, unless an address is given or we have an index available, we cannot undertake a speculative search. Members requiring more complex searches should consider contacting the Society's "Helpline" service.

If you are looking for information about how to begin researching your family history, please consult the tutorial pages provided in our information base section.

We do not undertake paid for research services. We do, however, carry advertisements for local researchers who will be prepared to discuss individual research requirements. The Society does not recommend any specific researcher and contractual arrangements with any of these researchers are between the researcher and their client.
