From the 26th June the tram will not run through St Peters Square

St Peter’s Square is one of the busiest city centre tram stops and will be a key destination on the new Second City Crossing. That’s why we’re building a much bigger, better stop in the square, with two huge new platforms and two sets of track running through it.
We’re getting ready to open the new stop later this summer, but we’ll need to stop running tram services through the square while we carry out the final works. Tram services will continue to run through the square on a single line until Sunday 26 June. From this date no trams will run through St Peter’s Square until the brand new stop opens at the end of August and a full service is restored.
Of course, we’ll make sure you can still travel through the city either on our replacement bus services or by following clearly signposted walking routes. More details about bus services will be available soon so make sure you check back with us in coming weeks.
