Talk on Irish & Scottish research

Irish and Scottish research
Nov 2nd 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Held in the performance space Manchester Central Library at 10:30 am

The usual problem for those of us with Irish ancestors is the lack of information on the origins of the fore-bearers, apart from "born in Ireland" on a census return. This talk aims to give help and advice showing how to start your Irish research plus the various records that are available to locate that elusive place of birth.

Research for Scottish ancestors is also an area requiring a rather different approach. The Anglo-Scottish branch will aim to put beginners on the right path and look at the increasing amount of data that is available.
