28 Dec 2019Planning and scoping began in late 2018. Meetings took place with project sponsors, Lancs & Yorks Railway Society [LYRS] and National Railway Museum [NRM], after which Frank Harrop specified a research programme to be followed by him with the help of Janet Parkes. This schedule has been followed throughout 2019. At the close of te year over 1,400 individual research sheets have been largely completed, representing well over 50% of the names. Completion of this 50% is expected by the end of January 2020. A copy of the control spreadsheet will then be made available to allow decisions to be made about the format of the proposed database. Work on the remaining 50% will continue throughout the coming. With the present rate of progress, the research element of the project is expected to be complete by December 2020.
